TALBOK™ Train-The-Trainer

An action plan program
Instructors: TALBOK™ Facilitators

The TALBOK™ Train-The-Trainer program has three phases:

  • Phase 1 - The Train-The-Trainer virtual lab: Four days (Monday evening to Friday noon), each day 4 blocks of 90 minutes, conversations with a panel of learning science experts.
  • Phase 2 - The Train-The-Trainer online supervised training: A seven-week online training in which the trainer-in-training will create seven mini-projects, each corresponding to one of the TALBOK™ knowledge areas.
  • Phase 3 - One-on-one mentoring with TALBOK™ facilitators: Check-in and mentoring sessions with TALBOK facilitator before and after the first training program delivered by trainee.

The focus is on teaching exercises, familiarity with the TALBOK™ Trainer Workbook content and other teaching materials, understanding of the principles of adult learning as they relate to the courseware, familiarity with the online delivery system, considerations to adaptations required depending of customization needs, etc.

At the end of the program participants receive a certificate of participation

How to train others in the use of the principles and techniques to design learning environments that promote effective teaching and learning according to best practices in industry and academia.

Instructional Methods
Audio and graphic presentation, discussion questions, group projects, partner exercises, online role-playing exercises, case studies, and online self tests.

Pre-requisites

  • TLP Credential or 50 contact hours of TALBOK™ education
  • Web-based survey questionnaire
  • Basic computer skills (Internet and some productivity suite)
  • Facilitation skills
