Welcome to the TALBOK™

The TALBOK™ is an acronym for the Teaching and Learning Body of Knowledge. The TALBOK™ was developed by Dr. Iris Stammberger to promote and develop collaborative environments that foster performance, innovation and deep learning in education and business organizations.

The TALBOK™ is a unique collection of research-based practices shown to improve learning and expert performance across disciplines. These practices have been identified by the cognitive and learning sciences through the study of learners, experts and successful teams of scientists, engineers and managers at work. The goal is to offer experts ways to purposely improve the cognitive aspects of their work and therefore impact their own performance, support the training of novices and increase the effectiveness of their work teams.

The TALBOK™ is organized along seven knowledge dimensions. These dimensions provide the structure that guides individuals to recognize and/or discover the principles, practices and tools that foster learning at the novice, expert and disciplinary levels.
