TALBOK™ Evaluation Tools
TALBOK™ Best Practices Test (BPT)
The BPT provides the opportunity for an organization to obtain a snapshot of how closely its practices mirror those prescribed by the TALBOK™ for the creation of innovative learning environments. The questions are based on principles and practices instead of theoretical knowledge, allowing organizations to see the areas in which best practices are most and least prevalent through the reported behavior.
An added benefit of the BPT is that the questions themselves promote test-takers’ self-reflection about the practices they are and are not implementing. Moreover, organization-wide post-BPT discussions can serve as a starting point for promoting positive TALBOK™-aligned changes in the organization's learning and innovation environment. The BPT descriptive reports provide the overall percentage of best practices selected, as well as the percentages corresponding to each TALBOK™ area. Test-takers receive an individualized confidential report while the organizations receive a report grouped by department or organization.
TALBOK™ Performance Evaluation Tool (T-PET)
The purpose of the T-PET is to help organizations examine the extent to which they have implemented TALBOK™ principles and practices. It is possible to use the tool as a starting point for examining short- and long-term outcomes that may result from rigorously implementing the TALBOK™ across an organization or institution.
The function of the T-PET is to provide a descriptive snapshot of the current state of TALBOK™ implementation at an organization. T-PET findings are described in a narrative format, using charts, or via a combination of these two forms of representation. The scoring structure of the T-PET enables an organization to examine the TALBOK™ implementation at various levels of granularity both with respect to the TALBOK™ itself and with respect to the organizational structure. Additionally, the T-PET provides a framework for examining the extent to which TALBOK™ training has been translated into practice.
